"I said it's GREAT to Be a FLOOOOOORIDA Gator!!"

There is nothing like the sweet sound of a crowd chanting those beloved words. Today we heard lots of it for the 2008 Gator Football season home game opener. My awesome Gators, lead by Superman Tim Tebow, took on Hawaii to start the season off with a big time WIN! We killed them, 56-10, and James and I had a great time tail-gate hop'n with Lindsey, Reema and Alex for a bit before we camped out at the one and only Swamp Restaurant...Thank goodness football season is BACK!!!!

Yet another game at the Swamp...

Crowded under a tailgate tent for a quick rain shower right before the game
(James, Alex, Katie, Reema)

A night out before game day with old and new Phi Mu's. I love these women.

Just Us Girls

We are going on day 5 of just "me and the girls" (Stella and Hailey that is.) James has been up north visiting his family in New York since last week. Unfortunately, my new job kept me from going with him, but we have still managed to have a good time home alone without daddy. I had a day off of work today and decided to relax. Caught up on some emails, created a new blog for my friend's wedding, and sat down for a marathon of one of my favorite shows: Ace of Cakes. The Food Network has a host of AWESOME shows, but this one stands out for me. Chef Duff and his witty crew of bakers, decorators, sculptors, architects and designers at Charm City Cakes, keep me on the edge of my seat as they attempt to create crazy, towering, edible shapes. It's so impressive. Doesn't hurt that the cake-gang consists of young, inventive hipsters in Baltimore, MD. Their long hours and brainstorming sessions remind me agency life in NYC. If you want to check out an episode or 2, you will have to stay up late (or DVR it!) The show is on at different times between 10pm and 1am. Or you can watch episodes ANY time of the day at foodnetwork.com. Let them eat cake!

..and as for "the girls" they like the show too! Since mommy is so addicted, they have a nice warm body to snuggle up to for a nap while I'm on the couch. Works out for all of us!

It was only a matter of time with these 2...

My dear friend from freshmen year of college called me Friday night to tell me the good news: She had accepted the marriage proposal of her prince charming and is getting hitched! Woooo.

CONGRATS DANIELLE AND ANDY!!

Ducky, the nickname I gave her back in 2001 and that has since stuck with our entire sorority, and her fiance, Andy, have been dating for a few years and just bought a house in Melbourne, Fl. She works raising grant money for a fantastic program benefiting troubled kids, and he works at an ad agency with his father. They are both awesome and have built a happy home with their to children, Dash and Riley. I am honored to be a part of their wedding as a bridesmaid, in their March 2009 ceremony. Let the planning begin!! You can view their wedding website here.

Below is Ducky's attempt to be artsy and show off her Tacori ring at dinner. Good use of the dessert Ducktails! ;)

The couple beaming with excitment, celebrating the engagement!

Home in Melbourne.

Florida Gators!

At the beach with her babies, Riley and Dash

The skills Andy has taught Danielle.

The future Mr. and Mrs. Kraus!!
