Another Quarter Centenial Celebration

Not quite jet setters, but we do travel 150 miles on the weekends to have raging parties. :) Ok, that might be a bit of an overstatement- we all know my weekends generally consist of cleaning, house projects and/or weddings- but this weekend it was the truth! My sorority sister and old roommate, Erin Choy, invited me to join her birthday festivities in celebrating the big 2-5! Because of her high-status in the world of state-capital politics, we were lucky enough to have a complementary party bus haul us around all evening. The music was pumping, people were laughing and the mini bar was in full effect; a perfect setting for good times. Another Phi Mu sister, Dana, accompanied me on the 2 hour treck north (can I get a high-5 for awesome road-trip buddies?). Thanks go out to Erin for the hospitality and "interesting" evening. On another note, I got to see that there really is more to Tallahassee then just a gross mixture of red, yellow and Gator wannabas :)

Class of...OHHHHH Eight!

Ah, spring time... the flowers are in full bloom, families are outside on the weekends, baseball returns- its a beautiful time of the year! But in Gainesville, Florida it means a whole lots more... it means graduation time! The end of the semester. Hundreds of bright young students walk across the stage to receive a degree- then leave the stage with dreams of a successful career and life as an alumni. It means hotels filled to capacity, parents and grandparents, sisters brothers and friends- all gathering to celebrate, honor and take lots of pictures! This year, for me, it meant saying goodbye to a dear friend as she too moved her tassel from right to left. I met Miss Brittany Ann Laverty in the fall of 2004 when she rushed my sorority. She quickly became a huge part of my life as we shared many exciting adventures together- all stemming from our love of fun and great friends. We have seen each other though successes and failures, new jobs, lousy boyfriends, different lifestyles, families moving, friends leaving, school struggles and important decisions. We have partied with the best of them- created costumes, gone on road trips, planned birthday parties, visited Mexico, kept secrets, invented games, obsessed over Grey's anatomy and camped on an island for New Years. With all these fond memories I can't help but think that I'm pretty lucky. I have found a life long friend in Brittany and wish her nothing but the best of the best. Cheers to you, my friend. Congrats!
