Time for Some Advertising Fun!

As most of you know, I studied advertising for 6 years, so it would only be right that I blog about a recent :30 TV spot for the Honda Element. James and I tumbled over with laughter when we saw this. And thanks to the beautiful blessing of DVR, we were able to watch it over and over. It's so simple, yet so entertaining. The ad was targeted towards 18- to-49-year-old males "with an active, outdoor mindset" but that doesn't mean I can't swoon over the child storybook-like art direction and witty copy. Without further adieu, here is my ad spot pick of the month:

Below are a few more spots RPA did for this campaign. Not sure if they are running on TV, but I found them on the agency's website. Just as funny...

I have been biting my tongue for over 2 WEEKS now and it's been KILLING me.

The big news:
Amelia and Jo are PREGNANT!!!!!!!!

I'm going to be Aunt Katie :) I can hardly contain my excitement for both of them- and for our whole family. It's wonderful news and I can't wait to welcome the new baby! Amelia called me early on a Saturday morning (early = I was sleeping!) and something told me to answer. She said, "Hi Aunt Katie..." It took a moment to register what she was saying, then the tears came. Such wonderful news. I will keep you posted on the latest, and when we find out the sex. Watch out world, there's going to be another Colonna! :)

A New Chapter Begins...

Katie got a new job :) Yay!! All my networking with vendors and learning about the wedding and planning world in G-ville has finally paid off. I am now doing something that I love- coordinating weddings and events at the cutest, most charming little inn I've ever seen- The Sweetwater Branch Inn. I rocked my interview and got the offer about a week later. Thanks to Shea for finding the job posting! I'm so thrilled to be a part of the Sweetwater team- the girls seem wonderful and I get the feeling that they are a big family there. Just the dynamic I want in a work place. My head is full of ideas and I can't wait to start making them a reality. Below are some photos of the buildings, gardens, banquet halls and yummy catering. Enjoy! -and come for a stay!

A big congratulations to Stephanie and Chris Baker on the birth of their new little baby girl, Suzie Coleman. Born 7/7/08 in Gainesville, FL at 8 lbs 5 oz. Steph is Shea's (my awesome co-worker and fabulous new girl-friend) sister. I was able to visit her in the hospital and hold little Suzie at only 2 days old. So tiny!!! and SOOO cute!! I still can't get over her itty-bitty fingernails. ;) babies are so fun.... ! I did a shoot of Suzie last week and here are a few shots of the princess in her sweet booties.

I have a need...

...a need for SPEED!

No, we weren't flying planes with Goose and Maverick, but we were cruise'n along pretty fast! James and I were invited to join some friends at Ocala Gran Prix over the weekend for an afternoon of Go-Kart racing! And we had a great time! It took me until our third heat to realize that it was so much more fun not using the brake- and that was when I left all the boys in the dust ;) We ended the evening with some great food and company at the Ale house. I think we shall do this again!

All smiles as we take to the track...

Rules were made to be broken!
