The Eleventh Letter

"Famous Friday" was actually a few weeks back, but I wanted to share with everyone my experience. As you can see form the picture, I was lucky enough to meet Corey Brewer, the former Gator basketball player and one of the main contributers to our 2 NCAA Championships! He now plays in the NBA for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Let me tell you, he is such a nice guy. Very soft spoken and sweet. Was happy to give us a few minutes to take a picture and chat with me about his trips back to visit G-ville and Coach Donovan. I Always love when a "Gator Celeb" turns out to be a good guy... On the next famous front, we had a big event at Sweetwater the same night for the UF Law School Moot Court- a 2 part event, starting off in the hall with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres then moving into the house for a gourmet dinner. In attendance were a few special guests- The University of Florida's President Bernie Machen and his wife, many well-known law professors and Chief Justice John Roberts of the Supreme Court! So cool! Not to mention all the count marshals running around making sure he was protected. Lauren (our other director) and I were pretty excited about the event considering we were running it and had to answer to all the big-wigs. The night was a huge success and we still talk about it often. We were hoping that Famous Friday would have had one more special ingredient...Joakim Noah! We had big plans to meet him as well, but due to a chance in travel plans, he didn't make it into town until much later. He did however leave his shoes behind last time he was there....
