Why was I in Phoenix anyway?
Well, I didn't just travel across the country for a week of fun (although there was plenty of it!) Sweetwater Branch Inn was kind enough to send Lauren and I to the fifth annual Wedding Merchants Business Academy. The week-long convention was filled with enlightening seminars, expos, networking, demonstrations and dinners at the Windham- all within walking distance of our historical hotel. We really enjoyed the trip, learning valuable information and tips from some of the industries leaders. Speakers and participants came from The Knot, Brides.com, Martha Stewart Weddings, Wedding Wire, Get Married, Assoc of Bridal Consultants, American Disc Jockey Assoc, Assoc of Certified Professional Wedding Consultants,The Wedding Planners Institute, Assoc for Wedding Professionals International and Bridal Association of America just to name a few... ;)
In attendance were hundreds of wedding professionals from all divisions of the business. They came with fresh perspectives and open minds, and were all eager to share experiences and trade tips. Overall it was quite an energetic crowd (especially the DJs!!) We filled pages and pages with notes and ideas- and came home with a whole new vision and direction. I can't wait to put some of our ideas into effect!
